Kaley (she/her)

Kaley is the organizer of the Triangle Tolkienists. She plans in-person and virtual events, moderates the book club, and runs the Discord server. As the Smial Coordinator, she acts as liaison between the Triangle Tolkienists and the Tolkien Society.

A former indie bookseller who now works in academic publishing, Kaley likes to read fantasy, classic lit, nonfiction about history and nature, and the occasional sci-fi, romance, or horror novel.

Favorite book: The Two Towers or The Silmarillion

Favorite characters: Elrond, Idril, Faramir, Merry, Beleg

Nicole (she/her)

Nicole helps host in-person events and contributes to the book club. She’s also in charge of supplying the festive cheer at our annual Yule-tide gatherings.

As a member of the Students of Aulë faction, Nicole enjoys knitting and other fiber arts. She has also recently gotten back into pottery.

Nicole has a soft spot for the Hobbit movies because, in her words, the ending made her so frustrated that she had to go read the book to see how it really went down.

Jessica (she/they)

Jessica helps moderate the Discord server and contributes to the book club. She organizes the Students of Aulë faction and runs our twice-monthly virtual craft nights.

Jessica first learned to love the Lord of the Rings when she met her husband. Like many, they do a movie marathon every New Year’s Day. But what made her fall even more in love with Tolkien was getting involved in this community.

Jessica is a knitter by trade and loves to read romance novels.
