It seems like everyone – myself included – has been feeling the need for a Lord of the Rings reread recently. Well, let’s do it!

This isn’t an official book club series, since reading LOTR in the book club format takes us half a year to complete. This is just an informal readalong we’ll be doing in the Discord server. There are channels dedicated to each installment, and we’ll casually discuss what we’re reading as we each progress. Feel free to move at your own pace.

If it’s your first time reading the books in their entirety, or if it’s just been a while, I encourage you to join us! I think we could all use a little eucatastrophe right now.

2026 Tolkien Reading Day Soundscape Event

While you’re embarking on your reread, why not participate in the TRD Soundscape Event? All you need to do is choose a short passage from The Hobbit or The Silmarillion and film yourself reading it. Submit your video and information here (please make sure to read the instructions), and Jordan Rannells will add the matching soundscape audio for his livestream event on March 22.
