Hello to those of you who are keeping up with the website!

I just wanted to post a reminder here that, while all of our “official” events are posted here on the website, it’s still worth checking in on Discord now and then. We often set up more casual hangouts and virtual gatherings there. Here are a few recent examples:

• We have monthly virtual trivia nights where we do battle against a rather crotchety bot. You can see our leaderboards here!
• We have twice-monthly virtual craft nights, where the Students of Aulë get together to chat while they work on their respective crafting projects.
• Members attended the Cary Fall Festival and NCMNS BugFest together back in September.
• A few of us have been taking part in the Harvestmath Festival on LOTRO. We also traveled to the side door into Erebor in celebration of Durin’s Day. No underleveled toons died in the process!
• Several of us gathered at the Little Blue Bakehouse in Raleigh for coffee and chat.
• We recently held a virtual watch party for the Tolkien movie, and we’re planning to hold more virtual watch parties for the Star Wars movies over the next several weeks.
• We put together a team to take part in the Hungarian Tolkien Society’s 13th International Tolkien Mailing Competition, which will run from November to March. (While this team is full, you can still join as an individual competitor, or see if others in the Discord server would like to create a second team!)
